I work my craft slowly. |
I do good work. |
Being extremely active, I build all the time. Either in basic building material, (wood, stone, plastic or steel), or I build on my computer, (you don't think these web pages just magically appear), or I build in my mind. |
I build for the sake of building. Friends, family and customers would all attest to the fact that I build alot and I do good work. Imaginative, strong, and of superior quality. |
I really like to build. But, I have no control over time and quality. "I have to do the best that I can." The quality of an object built, becomes very important. Better ideas come up, problems occur, plans or materals change.
"Time Suffers." |
I am represented here, not to mention the fact that safety, and function has to be considered. Everything I build is meant to last for years, (sometimes hundreds of years). Things must be done correctly or quality suffers. |
This is an important consideration when you hire me for a job. It is an inevidable eventuality that everything I start will evolve into a more refined project by the end. All planning should included, atleast the possibility of improvement. Be aware that time is considered only after success. |

So I choose my jobs with care. |
I do a wide variety of building. I prefer residentual projects to commericial. Commercial pays more but is more restrictive. Home owners, people, want the best they can get. Businesses have profit as the bottom line. |
I've built using many different materials. Wood mostly, but I've also; put in ceramic tile floors and counter tops, drywalled new construction, layed patio stones, put on roofs, repaired them, built aluminum enclosures, and things I just don't remember. |
Seven (7) years ago I started computer training. The first programs learned aided in my carpentry/building business, such as acad (computer aided design), construction estimating, accounting, and word processing. Blah,Blah,Blah |
Two (2) years ago I bought a nice laptop computer. Since then I picked up a scanner, digital camera, and other extras. Now I can offer web page building, as well as different types of photo/digital imaging and processing. |
I have tested the worth of my computer skills using Snelling Employment Services. With orders that I only wanted computer work, and after guaging my abilities using their testing computers, they were able to hire me out in less then 3 weeks. |
I am far more advanced now. The list of what I know or can do is somewhere close by on this web page. Surfice it to say I am turning into a regular computer geek. To me the computer itself is technical, but possibilities are amazing. |

I've gathered tools in preparation. |
Great the way things work out sometimes. Since I love to build, I buy only the best tools. Dewalt, Porter Cable, Milwalkee and Craftsman. Every chance I had I bought another quality hand tool, or bench tool. 2 years ago the names started including; Compaq Presario, Hewlett Packard, and IBM. |
An important chance contribution came from my brother Arthur. He had an nice trailer that was just taking up space in his yard. With a (7 x 11 foot) flat bed, it was perfect for building a traveling workbench. Equiped with a generator, compressure, powerwasher, drill press and kitchen sink, I have everything I need wherever/whatever the project may be. |
It takes as many tools to build a jewlery box as it does a house. The tools are just smaller and different. I like doing both so I have both kinds of tools. This gives me the ability to either build you a garage, or repair furniture. |
So? I have a bunch of computer stuff. And, I also am prepared to travel with woodworking tools. What does this all get me? Hopefully alot of interesting travel for the next 10 or 20 years. Maybe a chance to meet a few interesting people along the way. |
My survival needs are few. My abilities are enough to always support my life style without much effort. But to accomplish worthwhile goals can sometimes be a challenge. I've prepared. It will be interesting to see how things will progress from here. |
Actually it is all pretty much old hat to me now. I have always traveled alot and carried some tools with me. The only difference now is the amount and variety of tools I carry. |
So I'm a pretty happy camper. (: Smiles for Miles :) I'm finishing up this first set of web pages I've built, (about 50 different addresses). It is just about time to hit the road again. I think if I was asked today where I would like to adventure next, I would have to say the mountains. Colorado, maybe Missouri, or Oklahoma. Hint,Hint,Hint,Hint,Hint, |
